Bought a van that had an MOT done here a week before purchase. The MOT was clean without a single advisory, yet the car had problems that should have been covered by the MOT. A month after purchase I was replacing a track rod end that could have resulted in my death and then two weeks later I replaced all four tyres. Two of the tyres had cuts, which may have been caused during my driving, but the other two were completely worn out on the inside tyre wall and would at the least have been an advisory during an MOT. Never thought to check these things before purchase, as the MOT had no fails or advisories and thus paid for problems.
